BAGLUNG, Oct 20: The Unified CPN (Maoist) Baidhya faction organised a workers’ gathering in Baglung, today, in less than a week after the Maoist leaders agreed to settle the internal disputes of the party by the central committee meeting scheduled for November 3.The district leaders close to Baidya faction called the gathering as an internal meeting of the party. However, the establishment faction of the party called it unilateral and declared to boycott it.
Earlier, the Standing Committee meeting of the Unified CPN (Maoist) had decided not to organise any gatherings before the central committee meeting. General Secretary of the party Ram Bahadur Thapa, Standing Committee member Netra Bikram Chand, Politburo member Hitman Shakya and Central member Santosh Budhamagar have arrived in Baglung to address the gathering. District in-charge of the UCPN-Maoist and leader close to Baidhya faction Parasmani claimed that the gathering was not called by any faction, instead, it was the meeting of active cadres of the district. However, he refused to reveal the programme venue. UCPN-Maoist close to establishment faction and district co-Incharge Dhana Prasad Sapkota claimed that the gathering was organised by Baidya faction, unilaterally, going against the party system. |
